Books At The Beach Was Awesome!

I was at Books At The Beach for the third time this year. I can’t begin to express how much I love this event. The hostesses are just amazing, and the volunteers are amazing. It’s always pleasant and successful. Not to mention that I get to see friends and familiar faces that bring joy to my heart. Catching up with all these long-lost peeps is part of all the fun.

Not to mention, this year, I had not just my husband with me but my PA, Chanel Johnson. She kept me on the straight and narrow and was terrific with the people I couldn’t entertain while I was blessed to have a small crowd. She also held my books when I shipped two seventy-pound boxes her way until I got there.

I managed an incredible book and swag haul. Please note my goodies in my pics. They won’t be doing the event next year, but I look forward to 2026. If there is a sign-up, consider me signed up.

Author and Reader Events, It Feels Like Home, JUMPER, WIP Wednesday

The Gibberish WIP

Hello, and welcome to my WIP update. It Feels Like Home is going up on Amazon for paperback purchases in the next few days, and it will be up for preorder for e-books until the 4th. It comes out on the 5th of July. You can get it right now if you are an ARC reader through BookSprout or my YA & TEEN ARC Team.

My current project is JUMPER. I’m 13 chapters and 19000 words in. The first few chapters are letters, so there are many chapters at the start. That said, JUMPER is a deep and dark story. I already have TW for sexual torture, sexual sadism, SA, child SA, reference to miscarriage, PTSD by both a primary and side character, and the threat of forced breeding.

So yeah, this is a light, feel-good book you will want to share with the whole family!

WIP Wednesday, Writing

A WIP without WIP TYPOs.

I am still trying to determine how I work on two projects without any major boo-boos, but I’ll take it. It’s like I’m suddenly touched by the gods with my ability to type, and I’d like to keep going with this trend, but alas, I’m about to head out on adventures.

What am I working on?

WIP Wednesday – How To Get Inspired

So no other way to say it.

WRITERS BLOCK!!!

Kill me now.

JONAH is the second time I’ve been novelly challenged. The first time it happened, I moved on and wrote RAIDEN in one week, but that isn’t a luxury I have right now. I have to find inspiration in this clusterfuck that I call JONAH. Luckily while at Books At The Beach, I was around other authors much more experienced than me and one of them blessed me with a suggestion that I’m taking to heart. I’m reading RAIDEN and TRACE to get a sense of Jonah’s voice and where Lizzy and he are in their story.

Thanks for all the advice, those authors I spoke with, your knowledge is invaluable.

Also, The Powers That Be bundle is coming out!

Books At The Beach Was Awesome!

Last weekend was Books At The Beach in St. Pete Beach, Florida. I had a great time but in retrospect, did not take that many photos. I failed the photo boss.

The schedule was incredibly convenient for authors and attendees. Thursday was author panels. I took some time to find an incredible vegan restaurant called Golden Dinosaurs in Gulfport, and I attended John Stamp’s Law Enforcement talk. After that, I went to Sherrilyn (Kenyon) McQueen’s panel. Oh my God! She was so full of advice and tidbits about writing and publishing that I won’t share with you because what happened in that room, stays in that room. Sorry, Charlie.
